As I look down at my own hands

I see the young man I once was.

Riding a bike, fishing in a lake

Seeing them as someone else.

Looking at my own body in the mirror

I see an older man, with an age worn face

The strength still there in my eyes

The smile that so many have loved.

Then my mind becomes active

Sleeping. Dennis was always sleeping.

The scream startled him awake.

“Janet! Are you okay? Janet!”

No answer. Dennis stood and listened.

Janet was in the control room and did not hear Dennis call her name.

Dennis looked into the cargo hold and saw it.

A small spider with a smile.

She screamed again
