Love by chance

Maya worked as a content writer at a well-known publishing firm in the city. Her days were filled with deadlines, manuscripts, and endless cups of coffee, but writing had always been more than just a job for her—it was a part of who she was. Whenever she needed peace, she would visit the old library near her office, a quiet place filled with the scent of books and memories.

One rainy evening, while searching for a novel on the top shelf, she accidentally dropped a book. Before she could pick it up, someone handed it to her.

It was Rishi.

For a moment, both of them stood frozen. They had studied in the same college years ago and had once shared countless conversations, dreams, and unfinished stories. Life had taken them in different directions after graduation, and they had not seen each other for almost a year.

“Still hiding in libraries?” Rishi asked with a smile.

“And you’re still writing?” Maya replied.

To her surprise, Rishi had become a writer too. He spent most of his time working on short stories and novels, chasing the same dream they had once spoken about in college. Their conversation that day lasted for hours. They talked about old classmates, forgotten memories, failed plans, and the lives they had built after college.

Soon, the library became their meeting place. They exchanged stories, read each other’s work, and encouraged one another during difficult times. What started as friendship slowly turned into something deeper. The feelings they had once ignored during college began to return.

But both of them carried scars from the past, unanswered questions, and fears about love and commitment. As they grew closer, they realized that sometimes life gives people a second chance—not just to rewrite their stories, but to finish the ones they left incomplete.

Neither Maya nor Rishi knew where this journey would lead, but every page they wrote together brought them closer to a love story they had never truly forgotten.
