The Red String

Detective Eliza Moore had seen all kinds of murders, but this one was different.

The victim, a renowned journalist, was found strangled with a red string wrapped around his throat. A tiny knot was tied at the end, a signature she had seen once before.

Seven years ago.

The killer had been caught back then. Executed. Case closed.

Yet, here it was again. The exact same knot. The exact same red string.

Eliza’s hands clenched into fists.

Had they executed the wrong man?

Or worse… was he still alive?
